MACS DONATION RECEIVED FROM MASONS

Elaine Brown, chairperson of MACS, the cancer support charity, was delighted to receive a donation of 400 euros from Ken Wright WM of the Mason´s Lodge of Unity, of Mojacar. This money had been raised at the Indalo Bowling Club fundraiser event, and was handed over at the Kimrick in Mojacar Playa, where MACS, in turn, donated 2 vouchers for relaxing massages to the masons to raffle. Participants had an enjoyable evening eating their fill of an excellent hog roast and dancing the night away to the smooth swing tones of the superb Tony Justice.
The funds raised will be spent on the immediate and future medical requirements of patients, in particular, on vital equipment for MACS to loan out, some has already been set aside to purchase new special pressure pillows for the hospital beds with ripple mattresses which are regularly loaned out to bedridden MACS patients.
MACS provides help, care and support for people of any nationality with cancer related disorders. The Supporters are on hand to help with hospital visits, organise translations of hospitals papers, assist with shopping and offer an understanding ear to listen to the patient or the carer’s concerns. The Group has access to professionally qualified nurses and carers. MACS is a registered charity and as such, is totally dependent upon donations and also the commitment of volunteers.
